Deluxe Chiang mai jungle adventure

Escape into the wilderness and refresh your spirit. On this jungle trek, your guides will teach you to return to indigenous roots and enjoy the simple pleasures of jungle life. This trip includes the trek past guests have voted it as the authentic experience in Northern Thailand and combined it with a stay in a Private bungalow at Chai lai Orchid. In addition to playing with and learning to care for beautiful elephants, you will experience traditional jungle life the Karen way! Miles away from the bustling city and tourist traps, you’ll trek to Karen Hill Tribe village, swim at jungle waterfalls, enjoy traditional food cooked over the fire, bamboo raft down a river, and sleep in a Karen-style bungalow.

You will get to meet and interact with each of the elephants one on one. Learn about each elephant’s distinct personality and some words to communicate with them. Follow elephants as they roam free through the jungle. At the river you can play with the elephants and scrub them. It’s pure bliss to see them enjoying their natural environment.

Day 1 Itinerary

Pick-up

Get picked-up from you hotel in Chiang Mai (between 8-9AM) drive through the beautiful countryside of Northern Thailand approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes

Elephant Sanctuary

Help care for a family of elephants at the Chai Lai Elephant Rescue in Mae Wang. During the day you will get to meet and interact with each of the elephants one on one. Learn about each elephant’s distinct personality and some words to communicate with them. Discover the story of each elephant and how they came to live here. Follow elephants as they roam free through the jungle. After hiking around the mountains with your new pachyderm friends there is no better reward than plunging into the cool refreshing river. At the river you can play with the elephants and scrub them. It’s pure bliss to see them enjoying their natural environment.

Waterfall Swim and Lunch

This tour offers an unforgettable waterfall picnic lunch. Your guide will pack a traditional Thai meal and fresh seasonal fruits, and you can enjoy your lunch next to a gorgeous jungle waterfall. Depending on the weather and season you can bbq over a fire. Please let us know in advance if you have any dietary restrictions so we can accommodate. We can offer vegetarian, halal, gluten free, nut free or vegan lunch.

Dinner over an open fire

Relax beside the fire in the evening as you enjoy the company of your guide who will prepare you a traditional Karen meal. Enjoy your meal and the stillness of life away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Sleep in a Karen Homestay

Our Karen homestays offer open-air showers and eco-friendly solar-powered facilities. Fall asleep to the sounds of the jungle in a beautiful traditional bamboo bungalow in a Karen Hill village surrounded by picturesque river and jungle.

Bask in golden the afternoon light and enjoy elephant happy hour at Chai Lai Orchid before retiring to your private bungalow for dinner.
